BUILDING APPROVAL
It is required by law that a building permit must be obtained by your local council before any building works can commence on-site.
Once we have discussed and then designed your site plan and elevations for your new project, we will hand it on to our engineer to sign off on your behalf to have it certified for building approval. Ready to then be submitted, you will bundle your necessary documentation, paired with the application form and submit it to the shire who will then grant you with approval.
The building permit fee is $166.00 paid to the council. You can also obtain building approval from the Watercop to ensure that your water, wastewater, and drainage services are protected. This is not a requirement.
The general time frame from the start of submission to receiving your building permit is approximately 5 weeks for your local shire. This can be extended due to minor circumstances like variation forms.
The council will then be in touch via email or post when you receive a builder’s copy of the approved builder’s permit.
